We have fantastic news to share: London Nightline has been named Volunteer Organisation of the Year at UCL’s recent awards ceremony. This recognition highlights the essential role London Nightline plays in supporting the mental health of students across London.
For those unfamiliar, London Nightline is a student-run listening and support service, providing a safe space for students to talk about anything—from academic stress to personal challenges—confidentially. The dedication of the volunteers is what truly sets London Nightline apart, making a real difference in the lives of students in need. As Oliver Peachey, Volunteering Partnerships Manager at UCL, expressed: “It was such a joy to find out our panel had selected London Nightline to be our Volunteering Organisation of the Year. It’s a real credit to the support and dedication you and your team have to your whole volunteer programme.”
The partnership between London Nightline and UCL has helped foster a culture of openness around mental health. This collaboration provides vital support, helping students feel comfortable reaching out for help.
Recognising Volunteers
This award is a testament to the hard work of London Nightline’s volunteers, who create a supportive community for their peers. One of these remarkable volunteers was also honoured with the Volunteer of the Year award for their incredible commitment and charitable efforts. Each volunteer’s dedication ensures that every call is met with understanding and care, reinforcing that no one faces their struggles alone.
Looking Ahead
With this recognition, London Nightline is set to continue its mission of supporting students through their challenges. We want to thank UCL for its commitment to mental health and for recognising this partnership that demonstrates its support for students. We look forward to continuing this work together, making a difference one call at a time!
